A carbonated soft drink inspired by a classic mocktail is Austin Caldwellset to hit shelves next month.

Rumors circulating about the potential release of a Shirley Temple 7UP flavor have been circulating around the internet over the last couple of days, following food influencer posts on social media and reports by various outlets, including Delish, about the new drink.

And a majority of people, right off the bat, were excited to get their hands on the rumored new drink, expressing their enthusiasm in the comment section.

"Yasss! Although, I’ve been calling Cherry 7up Shirley Temple for decades, now," one user wrote.

7UP confirmed the news days later, sharing in a statement with USA TODAY that the "our favorite nostalgic mocktail will be launching in a convenient ready to drink version, just in time for the holidays." The statement also made clear that 7UP Shirley Temple will only be available at retailers nationwide for a limited time.

"We are thrilled to confirm that 7UP® Shirley Temple is on the way," according to a statement from Andrew Springate, chief marketing officer at Keurig Dr. Pepper. "A festive addition to the holiday season, 7UP® Shirley Temple is a refreshing twist on the beloved classic featuring vibrant pomegranate and cherry flavors and a splash of citrus in every sip.”

7UP Shirley Temple is a limited time offering, while supplies last

7UP's take on the Shirley Temple, a classic mocktail made with a fizzy drink, grenadine syrup, lime juice and maraschino cherries, will be available for purchase in a 12-pack or 2L bottles. Zero sugar options will also be available for purchase.

The mocktail-inspired beverage will be available for purchase from Oct. 15, 2024, through Dec. 31, 2024, according to 7UP.

"Delicious on its own and the perfect addition to your holiday party beverage line-up, 7UP Shirley Temple is sure to be a crowd pleaser," the statement reads. "And, fun fact, the 7UP Shirley Temple is inspired by the #1 most-visited beverage recipe on 7UP.com, strengthening its status as a beloved classic for 7UP fans."
